Known place, especially for its lake, which is located at an altitude of 1534m in the high Eggental.
The lake of Carezza is in the midst of a fir tree forest at the foot of the famous Latemar massif, which is reflected in the emerald waters of the lake and a very popular destination in summer and also in winter. In summer, it seems to be a magical place and therefore the lake is often called "the magic lake of the Dolomites, that is located in the realm of King Laurin. During winter, the lake is visited by divers, that do underwater shots under the ice and create documentary films.
But not only because of its lake Carezza is famous, but mainly for its ski region „Ski Carezza“ that lies at the foot of the two mountains Latemar and Rosengarten. With its 40 kilometers of pists and 16 lifts it has become an absolute guarantee of sun and snow. The unique panorama between Rosengarten and Latemar transforms the days on skis, snowboard or sled into something special. The ski region prides itself for its prevailing on average 8 hours of sun per day and together with its snow park it satisfies the most demanding guests.
In summer you will find in Carezza the glorious countryside with superb views and traditions. Between the so called „Nigerpass“ and Carezza, there are countless alpine huts and farms in which there are cultivated the traditions, ancient professions and South Tyrolean culture. The so-called "Schupfen, old barns, which are now used to offer refreshments, situated between Rosengarten and Latemar are connected by trails that let beat faster any hiking-heart.
