Obereggen

Obereggen is situated at 1550m above sea level and is the heart of the ski region Ski Center Latemar. This place belongs to the municipality Nova Ponente, consists of about 900 inhabitants and offers all mountain lovers a wide range of entertainment options, as well in winter as in summer. In the sixties in Obereggen was built the first lift in order to enable the enthusiasts of skiing the practicing of winter sports in the fresh air, in the beautiful natural landscape. Currently it has 46 km of slopes that belong to the ski region, which are accessible thanks to 18 ski lifts. With its black, red and blue runs Obereggen does not only provide variety for alpine skiers , but it offers also a snow park and a halfpipe for snowboard -fans. Those who wish to enjoy the mountains at night, there is expecting a ski run and a 2.5 km long illuminated perfect toboggan run - it really offers something to everyone!

All those who do not ski, can have fun in the fresh mountain air, doing trips in the snowy winter landscape, visiting for instance the Alps Ganisch or Zischg. In summer, San Floriano, like Obereggen is called in Italian, offers thanks to its modern ski lifts, the possibility to reach the starting points for climbing rocks or climbing walls, or you can also hike on easier trails enjoying the spectacular views. It is the ideal destination for day trippers, that love sunny mountain terraces in the middle of beautiful forests, surrounded by the mountains Rosengarten and Latemar. A magnificent place from spring to autumn!
